Taking The Trade To New Dimensions
From 24 till 27 April The 6th International Jewellery Fair “Aru-Almaty 2008”, the unique specialized jewellery project in Kazakhstan and Central Asia, was held in the south capital of Kazakhstan, Almaty city. The fair was held with the support of the Government of Republic of Kazakhstan and National Jewellers Association of Kazakhstan.
During its six-year history the jewellery fair “Aru” came a way from unassuming exposition of individual jeweler-handicraftsmen to the important international arrangement. The fair took place in Sports and Exhibition pavilion “Olimpix” behind the Palace of Sports, with floor area over 2000 square meters. Gold, silver and platinum jewellery, gem and semi-precious stones, watches, bijouterie, souvenir items, tableware in jewellery performance were presented at the fair. The famous jewellery companies from 13 countries of the world took part in the fair: Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Italy, Spain, Turkey, U.A.E., Germany, Belgium, Czechia, India, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan. 
The jewellery manufacture of Russia was the most-widely presented by such jewellery companies as “Grodes”, “Estet”, “Almaz-Holding”, “Adamas”, “Akvamarin”, “Inter-Chas”, “Magic Gold”, “Juveros”, “Kazan Jewelry Factory”, “Art-Yuvelir”, “Kostroma’s Jewelry Factory”, “Kast”, “Nit Ariadny”, “Bronnitsy Jewelry”, “Russkiye Samotsvety”, “RegionJuvelir”. Year 2008 was declared as a Year of Ukraine in Kazakhstan. This event was noted at the fair by five Ukrainian jewelry companies: “Kiev Jewellery Factory”, “Belozerkovskiy Jeweller Plant”, “Baget”, “Bryus”, “Agni”.

The worthy place was taken by collective exposition of The Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council of India (GJEPC), which presented production of Indian jewellery companies: “Kala Gems Exports”, “Sur Gems”, “Mohit Diamonds”, “Tulsi Jewellers”, “Vidhan Gems&Jewellery”, “G.S.Exports”. Jewelry production of Indian companies “Kays Jewels” and “New Era Zerger” was in a great purchase demand. 

Admiration was aroused by refined adornments offered by Italian companies “Eurasia Gioielli” and “La Mira”. Manufacturers of jewelry from Turkey was enough widely presented at the fair as well: “?ekvin Jewellery”, “Franco Fontana”, “Italgold & Italsilver”, “Alexandra Gold”, “Alkaziya”, “Universe Gem”, “Bag Jewelry”, “Myra Gold”, “Atasay”, “Geras Diamond”. “Benelux Diamonds” from Belgium and “Style Avenue” from Czechia took part in the fair for the first time. Armenian companies “V.G.Grego” and “G.Aureus” feel confidently in the market of Kazakhstan.
Individual jeweler-handicraftsmen from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan took part in the fair as well. They presented their original national handwork items. 
In the framework of the fair, the models show of “Eurasia Gioielli”, “New Era Zerger” and “Kazakhstani Jewellery Manufactory” was held on the podium.
Buyers could take part in drawings of jewellery of companies-manufacturers, and professionals of jewelry business could become participants of seminars on the subject “Psychology of jewellery sales” by Moscow international business center “6 Karat” and “Modern digital technologies in jewellery manufacture” by Moscow company “Nika-Rus”.
During 4 days of the work the fair was visited by over 10,000 people including wholesale buyers and jewellery industry specialists from all the regions of Kazakhstan, as well as from Russia, Ukraine, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
