The Gemstone Industry & Laboratory Conference (GILC) has announced speakers for the 2013 meeting in Hong Kong. Each topic on following agenda will be briefly presented by industry experts and then open for discussion. Speakers and their topics include :

• Prof. Mimi Ouyang, Chairlady of the Gemmological Association of Hong Kong - Fei Cui, the current market and defination


• W.W. Wong, Executive Administrator ( Accreditation), Innovation and Technology Commission, The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region - How the Hong Kong Lab Accreditation Scheme (HOKLAS) works to support the gem industry

The Gemstone Industry & Laboratory Conference will be held in the morning of Thursday September 12, 2013. It is an invitation-only event. A report of the discussion and outcomes of Hong Kong GILC will be shared with the industry on the next issue of InColor.

GILC would like to thank our speakers and the attending participants for their support and bringing lively dialogues to make this important event happen. For more than a decade, International Colored Gemstone Association (ICA) has organized GILC in various parts of the world, bringing top industry leaders together to present research findings and discuss gemological, certification and laboratory issues relevant to the trade and the consumers.
