Israeli Diamond Industry Kicks Off 2013 in Mumbai and Vicenza

IDI

The Israeli Diamond Industry is jump-starting the New Year by participating in two trade shows in January: UBM Mumbai Jewellery & Gem Fair from January 5 – 7, and Vicenzaoro Winter from January 19 – 24, 2013.

This is the second year that the Israel Diamond Institute (IDI) is organizing an Israel Diamond Pavilion at the UBM Mumbia show. With interest in the Indian diamond and jewelry market reaching new heights, IDI now has three Mumbai shows on its annual calendar, including Signature in February and IIJS in August.

The IDI - organized Israel Diamond Pavilion, located at Hall #1 in the Bombay Convention and Exhibition Centre, will host five Israeli companies: A.G. Diamond Direct, Leo Schachter Diamonds, Sahar Atid, Shlomo Bichachi and Onyx.

IDI will have an image booth within the pavilion, which will provide buyers with information about the Israeli Diamond Industry and the advantages of doing business with Israel, and will register industry members for the Israeli Diamond Industry Portal site and on-line data base.

At the Vicenzaoro Show the Israeli Diamond Industry will be represented by four companies: AFIC Diamonds Ltd., B.S.M. Diamonds Ltd., SDE Group and Gal Diamonds Ltd.

IDI Chairman Moti Ganz said that the Israeli Diamond Industry is looking forward to 2013 with anticipation and optimism. “While 2012 has been a challenging year for the diamond industry internationally, the Israeli Diamond Industry has seen a markedly upward trend in recent months and increased demand for the holiday season,” he said.

Ganz added that IDI believes strongly in the importance of trade shows for the industry. “There are shows that suit only a small niche of Israeli companies, and there are others that attract a huge number of exhibitors. IDI continues to serve the Israeli Diamond Industry by facilitating its participation in a wide range of shows,” he said. “In 2013 IDI will be expanding its trade show participation in existing and developing markets,” he added.
