ICA is with great sadness to hear the news on the passing away of our member- a world renowned Graduate Gemologist
- Mr. Jerry Gerald Sisk.
Mr. Sisk had been a valuable asset to ICA and the whole gemology industry. He had actively participated and shared his
viewpoints in the Gemstone Industry and Laboratory Conference (known as GILC) organized by ICA. When we expected
to see him again in the GILC Tucson meet in the coming February as usual, we were truly sorry to hear his sudden
passing.
Mr. Sisk was also renowned for co-founding the Jewelry Television (JTV). In April 2012, the Jewelers Circular Keystone
magazine called Mr. Sisk the fourth most influential person in its “Gem and Gemology” sub-list. Mr. Sisk was an avid
reader and spoke six languages fluently. He loved music and actively supported the arts. Mr. Sisk was a past president of
the Knoxville Opera Company and a former board member of the Knoxville Symphony. In addition to ICA, Mr Sisk was
also a former member of the West Knox and Farragut Rotary Clubs, as well as a Paul Harris Fellow.
ICA would like to extend our deepest sympathy to the Sisk family. Our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.
