The most important world diamond leaders have accepted to be keynote speakers at the Zimbabwe Diamond Conference 2014: Eli Izhakoff, Honorary President of the WDC and Honorary President of the WFDB and Honorary President of CIBJO; Ernie Blom, President of the World Federation of Diamond Bourses; and Gaetano Cavalieri, President of CIBJO.
While the aim of the WFDB is to participate in the promotion of world trade and to encourage the establishment of bourses (recently there are 28 bourses worldwide), CIBJO represents the interests of all individuals, organizations and companies earning their livelihoods from jewellery, gemstones and precious metals. It is the oldest international organization in the jewellery sector.
WDC Honorary President Eli Izhakoff said: "I look forward to participating in this high-profile event. Zimbabwe is a significant diamond producing country and can evolve into an important trading center which will benefit all its citizens".
WFDB President Ernie Blom said: "Zimbabwe, with its vast mineral resources is well positioned to take advantage, as a major supplier of rough diamonds, in a world market that has seen challenges with current supply lines".
The conference will be moderated by diamond industry analyst Chaim Even-Zohar, President of Tacy Ltd.
The conference takes place on the 6th and 7th of November 2014 in Harare and will handle about "Completing Zimbabwe's Diamond Potential for the Future".
