Indian Embassy Luanda, and Endiama present opportunities in Angolan Diamond sector
A virtual meet to discuss an extensive opportunity in the Angolan Diamond sector was conducted by the Indian Embassy in Luanda, Angola, in association with GJEPC on the 12th of April this year. The participating Indian companies were Starrays, Ankit gems, Nimesh gems, Vanz Jewels, Pooja Diam, Decent impex, Groupeveritas, alongwith, Mr. Sabyasachi Ray, Mr. Vikrant Pradhan & Mr. Ninad Narwilkar from the gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council, India. The meet was chaired by Mr. Aditya Vats, Second Secretary (Commerce), Embassy of India, Angola & attended Dr Jose Carlos Sousa & Dr. Yambisa from ENDIAMA, one of the largest Diamond mining and investing company in Angola.
Endiama presented large opporuntities that lay ahead for the Diamond companies post opening of Saurimo Diamond Hub, Lunda-Sul. Angola is close to completing one of the world’s largest DIAMOND HUB AND A DIAMOND EXCHANGE that will truly transform the global diamond supply chain. The Diamond economy is looking at companies who can invest and trade Angolan Diamonds in the International markets. In the year 2020, Angola mined around 9 million USD carats of Rough Diamonds and is scheduled to increase upto around 14 million USD this year. With the Angolan regime becoming stable, safe and secured for International business, Angola is looking at investing companies partners and traders in the Diamond sector especially with the Saurimo Diamond Hub and the Angolan Diamond exchange in the anvil.
