India Diamond Week (Buyer Seller Meet)
GJEPC collaborates with DDC to present India Diamond Week to be held in New York

GJEPC Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council, India (GJEPC) and Diamond Dealers Club, New York (DDC) presents India Diamond Week at DDC, New York, to be held from 11th to 14th August 2014. Around 100 diamantaires both from DDC and GJEPC are expected to participate in the meet.

A GJEPC and DDC joint initiative - India Diamond Week will provide a platform for the Indian Diamantaires in USA to fortify the business relationship at one of the largest buying hub of diamonds. This is one place where the World's largest diamond manufacturing hub will meet the biggest diamond buying hub. This meet will see networking between major Diamond wholesalers / manufacturers from New York and India; Diamond Dealers who are the members of DDC and trade diamonds at NY and Buyers from other states.

On this occasion, Mr. Vipul Shah, Chairman, GJEPC said that, "The Gem & Jewellery industry strongly believes that USA will continue to be a strong global trading partner as US has already shown early signs of positive economic growth. GJEPC in its effort to promote the Indian gems and jewellery industry is continuously looking for opportunities to create a distinctive platform and has collaborated with Diamond Dealer Club to organise a unique and first time ever India Diamond Week (Buyer Seller Meet) in New York."

This is the first time that such a diamond week is done by Indian diamantaires in any part of the world. This will usher a new beginning for such diamantaires and it is expected that such India Diamond weeks may be organized in future with other diamond exchanges in the world. The general enthusiasm is immense in India and New York for such event and both DDC and GJEPC will mobilise its efforts to generate success for the event.

India's gem and jewellery industry is one of the important foundations of the country's export-led growth. A major contributor to the creditable performance of the industry is the massive diamond manufacturing sector, which employs nearly one million people across the country. The industry has grown from its small origins in the 50's and has established itself as the world's largest manufacturing centre of cut and polished diamonds for the last many years, contributing 85% in terms of volume and 92% in terms of pieces. USA is one of the key destination for diamond export.

The list of leading Indian manufacturers participating at this significant event will include D. Navinchandra Exports Pvt.Ltd., J. B. Brothers, KamaSchacther, Kiran Gems, H. K Designs, Rosy Blue, Mohit Diamonds, Interjewels, M. Tarun amongst others from India.
