RUBEL & MÉNASCHÉ CONTINUES SUPPORT FOR DDI

Rubel & Ménasché, the well-known Paris-based diamond company, has once again made a generous contribution to the Diamond Development Initiative International.

Rubel & Ménasché, a member of the Dali Group, has been supplying the jewelry houses of Place Vendôme with high-end small goods for over 50 years. The company has been granted European Commission "Authorized Economic Operator" (AEO) status by the government of France, which means it meets EC standards in respect of customs compliance, record-keeping, financial solvency and security and safety standards. Rubel & Ménasché is also one of the first companies to be certified by the Responsible Jewellery Council.

"We are exceptionally pleased to see renewed support from Rubel & Ménasché," said DDI's Executive Director, Dorothée Gizenga. "It demonstrates confidence in our work by an important member of the diamond industry. This contribution will help DDI in its mission to bring artisanal diamond miners into the formal economy where they can earn a fair income under decent working conditions."

"We are still proud to "walk the line in the name of others who can't" this year again. This is what Corporate and Social Responsibility means to us. It needs to be said again: reaching out to artisanal and small scale-miners is a way to re-draw the almost invisible line that connects us all along the Diamond Pipeline. Join us in supporting DDI!" said Stephan Wolzok, Director at Rubel & Ménasché (www.rubel-menasche.com)

"We have always been proactive in good practices. We are the fifth company to obtain RJC membership and in 2010, we were the second diamond dealer worldwide to get our RJC certification. That speaks for itself!" said Elodie Daguzan, Head of Communications. "For the past months, our industry has been in the middle of CSR turmoil. We heard about KP, Human Rights, Chain of Custody...in this context, we did not think twice about renewing our help to DDI. It was simply a must."

There are 1.5 million artisanal diamond miners in Africa and South America; they represent 1.5 million opportunities for development and sustainable economic growth.

The Diamond Development Initiative International (DDI) works to transform these opportunities into reality and ensure that diamonds are an engine for change. Our work could not be accomplished without the generous support of industry partners who recognize that diamond miners are important members of the diamond supply family.

We thank Rubel & Ménasché for their continued and inspiring support.
