IEG – Cutting of the inaugural ribbon at Vicenzaoro January – The Jewellery Boutique Show 2020, the gold – jewellery industry’s first international event

Last night, Friday 17th January, Vicenza Expo Centre saw the opening of Vicenzaoro January The Jewellery Boutique Show 2020, the first and much-awaited international event for the goldjewellery sector, organized by IEG-Italian Exhibition Group and scheduled to take place from 17th to 22nd January.

Intervening at the official opening ceremony with the cutting of the ribbon at 6 pm in the Palladio Theatre were Lorenzo Cagnoni - President of Italian Exhibition Group, Francesco Rucco – Mayor of Vicenza, Cristina Franco - Vice President of the Province of Vicenza, Elena Donazzan – Veneto Region’s Councillor for Education, Training, Work and Equal Opportunities, Ivana Ciabatti – President of Federorafi, Carlo Maria Ferro – President of Agenzia ICE, Achille Variati – Undersecretary of State for the Ministry of the Interior.

These were their comments during the ceremony:

“Today, Vicenzaoro, with T.Gold, opens the international gold-jewellery trade show calendar, with an all sold out”, said Lorenzo Cagnoni – President of Italian Exhibition Group. “It is a highly valuable event that offers companies and the younger generations enormous opportunities. It unites technology, creativity, sustainability and the ability to innovate. And, with the PRIMA project in collaboration with ICE, it consolidates the support of institutions and obtains the consent of category associations. VOJ is also the first event on IEG’s agenda and, as of this year, IEG is further consolidating its leadership in organizing the sector’s B2B events through the acquisition of the two jewellery shows in Arezzo. But, in order to withstand international competition, we need to seal alliances as well as radically transform our expo centre here in Vicenza.”

“Vicenzaoro is an extremely important event for our city,” the Mayor of Vicenza and Province President, Francesco Rucco, stated. “as well as an important business moment for the international gold and jewellery world which gathers in our city every year. Not only, thanks to VIOFF, the Off-Show event, it also provides the chance to show the world the many excellences of our territory.”

“Vicenzaoro is a perfect combination between gold and business,” continued Elena Donazzan - Veneto Region’s Councillor for Education, Training, Work and Equal Opportunities. “A place where large-scale Italian production meets in a city that is in itself a brand of beautiful and well done.”

“What is happening at this time here in Vicenza,” said Ivana Ciabatti – President of Federorafi – “is, in effect, the representation of the sector’s main strategic assets. In other words, the very best of Made in Italy, internationalization, innovation and training. We are thankful to our Government for maintaining significant funds for internationalization. Nevertheless, still too little has been done to simplify fiscal and bureaucratic procedures, to improve access to credit for SMEs, to connect schools and training to the business world and to encourage companies to embrace sustainability. These are the challenges that the sector is facing.”

"At this Show, I rediscover many of the factors that inspire the new ICE to act,” said Carlo Maria Ferro – President of Agenzia ICE. “Excellence, an inclination for export (in the first 9 months of 2019, Italy’s exports grew by 10.3%), focus on small and medium-sized enterprises, innovation, the supply chain approach, focus on young talents and start-ups (eight new initiatives are in attendance) and, above all, systemic collaboration.”

“Vicenzaoro has always shone with an extraordinary light,” Achille Variati, Undersecretary of State for the Ministry of the Interior affirmed. “A light that is linked to Vicenza’s goldsmith trade tradition. This event is the showcase of refined Italian beauty. A show that continues to grow thanks to the work of IEG and, it is for this reason that it needs to invest constantly in services and infrastructure.”
