IEG/VICENZAORO JANUARY 2020: ON STAGE ON 19TH JANUARY, THE 16TH EDITION OF THE JEWELRY TECHNOLOGY FORUM AS PART OF T.GOLD

Expert accounts, new technologies and an eye on trends: among debuts and high-profile reappearances, it is time for JTF, the Forum on innovation and a key event in Vicenzaoro and T.Gold’s role as “Innovation Hub” for the sector

The much-awaited appointment with the sixteenth edition of the Jewelry Technology Forum will take place on 19th January 2020. The result of collaboration between Italian Exhibition Group and Legor Group S.p.A., an international leader in the field of alloys and technologies for the jewellery industry, the Forum provides a unique training opportunity and the chance for fundamental contact between the “Research and Development” of the world’s most advanced organizations and all jewellery industry insiders.

The Forum is an essential part of the Vicenzaoro and T.Gold programme, to be held in Vicenza from 17th to 22nd January 2020, whose role as an “Innovation Hub” for the sector is becoming increasingly more evident.

In fact, JTF will be joined by StartUp & Carats, the initiative generated in collaboration with ICE that aims to develop innovation by promoting recently launched entrepreneurial projects, and by the Hackathon, an event in collaboration with the academic world, to encourage research into innovative solutions for the sector.

This edition’s programme, organized meticulously by the Legor Group team, foresees a focus by Chris Corti from COReGOLD Technology on the importance of crystalline grain and how it can be controlled in jewellery and an intervention by Jim Binnion from James Binnion Metal Arts, who will be taking a closer look at 3D models in acrylic photopolymer for micro casting.

Beatriz Biagi, from the homonymous brand, will be taking the stage to explain the ins and outs of innovation planning within the sector, while Stefania Trenti from Banca Intesa will be speaking about the jewellery sector’s macro-economic situation.

They will be followed by talks from Giulio Bevilacqua (Bedin Galvanica srl) on plating in the jewellery industry, Vera Benincasa from Mattioli on simulating the casting process in jewellery manufacturing and, last but not least, CISGEM – the Italian Gemmological Foundation - with Antonello Donini, who will be speaking on the topic of synthetic diamonds.

After the success of the 2019 edition, the format will once again be split into three modules: JTF LEARN, JTF FORESEE and JTF EXPLORE. The recurring theme of the experience is the equation “experience + knowledge = competence” – which sums up the philosophy behind JTF.
